BAIS
Reporting software for satisfied customers
There is always something to report!
BAIS – Banking Supervision Information System – is the comprehensive, future-proof, cloud-ready software solution for regulatory reporting by banks, financial service providers, securities institutions and building societies. Modules for individual reports for insurance companies or leasing companies are also available.
BAIS is fully multi-client capable, modular in design and suitable for large amounts of data. The system relieves users of complicated processes and changes in reporting and creates reports ready for submission in accordance with the requirements of the supervisory authorities.
Due to the applicable reporting regulations, institutions must submit numerous reports to central banks and supervisory authorities. These obligations arise from EU standards, national regulations, banking statistics requirements and foreign trade regulations. As conditions in the financial sector are constantly changing, regular adjustments or revisions to regulations are to be expected in the future – which places a heavy burden on institutions.
With our reliable reporting software and the right partner at your side, your institution can continue to reliably meet the complex requirements of supervision in the future.
BAIS Full Version
The full version of BAIS (BAISjava) is based on granular data provision and processes information on business partners, transactions, derivatives and securities, among other things.
- Once the database has been validated, reporting items are assigned and calculated in accordance with the BAIS rules. The historical items can be traced back to individual components in an audit-proof manner; Conversely, individual transactions can also be displayed with all allocations and values.
- BAIS enables changes, deletions and additions at a granular level, which are consistently taken into account in all reports. Numerous functions and evaluations expand the range of services.
The full version always includes the light versions, to which the results are transferred for finalisation of the reports.
BAIS Light versions
With its Light versions (BAIS-ExtraNet-KWG and BAISform), BAIS-Light versions offer the option of creating reports based on previously determined position values.
- Individual reporting items can be entered manually, delivered via simple interfaces or carried over from previous reporting dates.
- During the processing sequence, data is checked, totals are calculated and the official formal checks and validations are carried out before the reporting forms/templates are created.
Numerous lists and logs enable the traceability of the report creation, such as the threshold value or validation log. Finally, the report files are submitted to the Deutsche Bundesbank in XML or XBRL format.

Integrated Reporting Framework (IReF)
Are you ready for the paradigm shift in reporting?
IReF heralds a paradigm shift in reporting with far-reaching financial and structural implications for the banking industry and supervisory authorities. Reporting is scheduled to begin in 2029. We provide you with an overview of the latest developments in IReF and the challenges it poses for institutions.
Current BAIS training courses
In this basic technical seminar on working with BAIS, you will learn the daily processes in msg.ORRP/BAIS, the data delivery from the bank's inventory management systems, the necessary parameterisations and the analysis methods for the traceability of BAIS reporting proposals. In a short space of time, you will acquire a comprehensive understanding of the msg.ORRP/BAIS modules.
Further topics on BAIS
Data from internal systems that is relevant for reporting can be added to BAIS, data delivered via interfaces can be displayed in BAIS and modified if necessary. All manual interventions via BAIS are stored in the change log. This allows you to decide at any time whether and when manual changes should be overwritten by the data delivered via interfaces.
BAIS provides comprehensive lists and logs for tracking results, which can be accessed, analysed and exported via corresponding menus. Using the flexible list control, you can specify which lists are automatically generated in the daily processing run.
Data from the upstream systems is delivered via simple BAIS interfaces and automatically assigned to the reporting positions based on standardised rules. Even large amounts of data pose no problem in terms of delivery and processing.
Depending on the scope and planning of legal changes, two to three release updates are carried out each year, which also include data model and interface changes. In addition, regular hotfixes ensure that errors are corrected and inform you about short-term adjustments to notifications from the supervisory authority and updates to the default database. The BAIS installation tool supports you with release updates through standardised installation and testing procedures.
BAIS is continuously optimised and adapted to the latest technical developments. The application is available in various versions, ranging from a small stand-alone solution to a web-based solution and a cloud-ready container version.
